A 6 year old Dodge City girl Esella Vasquez died from injuries after a Saturday one vehicle crash 14 miles west of Cimarron. Eight others including Aracely Vasquez 6 Emiliano Vasquez 3 Margarita Vasquez 36 Deakila Vasquez 17 and Francisco Vasquez Rivera 42 were injured. Vehicle occupants mostly wearing seat belts and airlifted to hospitals in Wichita Garden City and Wichita. Lottery results also listed.
Obituaries list Elnora Ward 89 of Lakin died September 22 2012 at Kearny County Hospital. She was born 1923 Turon and married Norman Ward in 1946. Survived by daughters Kathy and Karen, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at First Christian Church Lakin with Garnand Funeral Home handling arrangements. Also noted are Nellie Deeds 98 Scott City and Mary Scott 104 Scott City with services and memorials, plus Florence Wilkison 86 Dighton and Jeanne Mueller 89 Lakin. Burial details and family notes included. memorials suggested to local churches and foundations.
At 1 34 pm units found no incident on arrival at 614 Garden City Ave. At 6 03 pm a motor vehicle accident with injuries occurred at 2000 Burnside Drive. At 11 25 pm alarm system activation occurred at 425 N Eighth St.
