Suspect sought in Garden City stabbing incident
A Garden City man, Alvin Garza aged 34 of 4680 U.S. Highway 50, was found stabbed outside his home at 2 14 a m Sunday and listed in good condition at St Catherine Hospital. Deputies are searching for a suspect who lives in the apartment complex, Finney County Sheriff Kevin Bascue said.

GCCC Phonathon Set for Oct 6
GCCC launches an Oct 6 to 16 phonathon to raise about 80000 for academic and technical scholarships. Eight volunteer teams from campus groups including Endowment Association and nursing, rodeo, fine arts, criminal justice, student government and more will call donors from 6 to 9 p m each evening. Last year the drive collected over 78740 in gifts and pledges.

Library to receive new materials at Finney County Public Library
The Finney County Public Library will offer a new range of books and puzzles for ages birth to five years along with parent guidance titles. A reception at 10:30 a.m. on October 16 will showcase the items, which become available for check out that day. The materials are funded by a Western Kansas Community grant.
