County weighs hidden road costs and local match
County officials expressed concern about a hidden local match in two million dollars of highway project funding that imposes local design, right of way, utility relocations and inspections costs. Commissioners endorsed the city engineer’s recommendation and noted future joint action on highway corridors. The meeting also approved waivers for fencing around Midwest Well yard and a taller accessory building, plus a $2 per ton waste fee waiver for the fall cleanup October 3 to 14.
