Burmese refugees form new church in Garden City
Refugees from Myanmar gather at First Southern Baptist Church in Garden City for a Burmese Community Christian Fellowship led by Rev. Jonathan Galia. Cappa Tar and family, recent arrivals from Mae La camp, join Burmese and Karen and Chin groups as they build worship in multiple languages while Tyson Foods employs over 120 refugees. Galia emphasizes faith as support amid fear for loved ones, and leaders plan separate Bible studies as the community grows.
