A five month investigation led to the arrest of Blanca Torres, 20, of Garden City, on three counts of felony theft two counts of forgery two counts of computer crimes and two counts of identity theft. Police say she prepared tax returns for clients then cashed checks and obtained tax service debit cards, defrauding clients of more than 32000 dollars and applying for credit cards in others names. She is held at Finney County Jail.
Scott Robert Sonnenberg, 24, of 1006 N Sixth St, turned himself in to Garden City police Friday afternoon. Officers had sought Sonnenberg on two counts of criminal possession of a firearm by a felon and warned he was armed and dangerous. He was aware authorities were searching and had been trying to avoid capture.
