High School facility study weighs two renovation paths
A study group at GCHS examined replacing the high school or building a second campus, with both options offering fewer mobile classrooms and smaller schools. Costs were not set, but past bond votes failed amid concerns over expense and community impact. The group will present more at an Oct. 27 district retreat.

FCEDC Could Seek Up To 2 Million Grant For Trades Training
FCEDC aims to secure up to 2 million over three years to fund tuition, supplies, and a 10 station welding lab for construction trades training. The plan requires 1 million in leveraged resources, with Garden City Community College covering about half, and would fund facilities and instructor salaries rather than building rehab. The application is due in October with a year end decision expected, and Sosa seeks letters of support as FCEDC markets Finney County to potential workers. Sosa is also pursuing a 100k to 200k marketing grant for recruitment amid relocation hesitancy.
