Lawmakers weigh delays to KPERS pension payments
Kansas lawmakers fear delaying the KPERS pension payment. They note the $100 million delayed contribution affects future state funding and could push higher employer contributions. KPERS faces lower investment returns than the assumed 8 percent, with 3-4 percent likely in 2016, complicating plans to fully fund future rates.
