Farm Bill spreadsheet guides acreage base choices
Kansas State University extension economists unveil an Excel based spreadsheet and paper worksheet to help producers decide whether to participate in the 2002 Farm Bill, whether to keep or update acreage bases and yields, and how these choices affect counter cyclical and direct payments. The tool, accessible online or via county offices, summarizes options, prices, and county yields to guide sign up decisions for the six year life of the bill.
