Building smokers a hobby turns charitable venture profitable
Arden City resident G Dennis Clark builds large smokers as a hobby and charity. He previously crafted a grill for Relay for Life in Ulysses, funded by Energy Transfer. His latest grill, raffled for a chemo patient, raised several thousand dollars at a Scott City car show with material support from Energy Transfer. Clark did most welding. Energy Transfer covered materials and his staff finished the project. He estimates a finished smoker at about 1200 dollars, requiring around 40 hours of his labor.
