Memory lapses TIAs or normal aging examined by Dr Donohue
Reader asks if daily memory slips signal TIAs. Dr Donohue explains TIAs are brief brain blood flow interruptions with specific symptoms and lasting up to 24 hours. He cautions memory lapses alone, especially in aging, are not proof of TIAs or Alzheimer's and advises a medical exam for reassurance. Plants and oxygen levels in bedrooms are discussed. Plants perform photosynthesis and release oxygen by day. at night they emit little carbon dioxide and do not threaten breathing for a husband with emphysema.
