Law logs show 18 year old Abdirahman Abshir arrested on battery in West Mary Street block 300 at 11 a.m. and 28 year old Darin Lamar arrested on probation violation in North Main Street block 600 at 4:49 p.m. Other incidents include thefts, vehicle and bike thefts, gas and oil spills, vandalism, a building fire, and counterfeit currency activity across Garden City area on Wednesday and nearby days. Several juveniles and adults were cited or released for no valid driver’s license, no proof of insurance, or detain orders. Multiple property losses cited, with values ranging from 15 to 1500 dollars. Noninjury accidents and gas leaks reported, plus a litter of criminal damage and a forged document incident at local banks.

Two charged after death of newborn in Reno County
Reno County authorities charged a 17 year old girl and her mother after the body of the newborn girl was found dragged from a creek on March 14. The autopsy showed a full term fetus with no defects and unclear if live birth occurred. The teen, Sarah Farley, faces three counts of unlawful voluntary sexual relations and is in a juvenile facility.
