Rhode Island’s Bishop Tobin Is Aggressive Voice for Catholic Teaching
Rhode Island’s Bishop Thomas Tobin, a outspoken church leader, has publicly challenged political figures over abortion and immigration. He criticized Rudy Giuliani by name during the 2007 campaign and condemned mass immigration raids, drawing pushback from Governor Carcieri. Tobin remains a influential figure in state politics and Catholic social teaching.
