Finney County Job Fair set for September 18
The Finney County Economic Development Corp Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce Garden City Community College and Garden City Workforce Center sponsor the 2007 Finney County Job Fair on September 18 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Plaza Hotel. A Senior Power Hour 1 to 2 p.m. targets mature job seekers. Admission is 50 dollars for employers and free for job seekers. The event expects 500 plus jobs from over 50 employers and offers seminars and computer assistance for resumes and NationJob connections.

United Way Kickoff Seeks Donations From Businesses and Residents
Finney County United Way announced the 2007 campaign with a goal of $550,000 and about $49,000 raised so far. The drive runs through November 1 with a Business Blitz to present to local businesses, alongside mailed information to residents including retirees. Contributions can be mailed or picked up by volunteers, with 42 volunteers last year and Benny Salki leading the local effort.
