Voter registration rises across Finney and neighboring counties

In Finney County 16120 residents are registered, up from 13000 last presidential election, county clerk Carol Brown said. Grant County added about 100 voters since last November, deputy clerk Sheila Brown noted, while Scott County totals rose to 3666 and Haskell County to 2333 since August. Local bond issues and sheriff races drive interest, though registration inflates due to a law change delaying removals. Clerks expect turnout to match the registration uptick as voters seek to have a say.
