Colmery honored with pocket park and statue in Topeka

Veterans figure prominently as Harry W. Colmery, father of the G I Bill, is to be honored with a pocket park and statue on Kansas Avenue in downtown Topeka. The project, funded largely by American Legion members, aims to memorialize Colmery’s 1944 Servicemen’s Readjustment Act and its six benefits for education, housing, and employment.
