Glass resigns Downtown Vision director post for college PR role
Beverly Glass has resigned as executive director of Downtown Vision effective Nov. 21 after seven years leading the group. She will become a public relations representative at Garden City Community College, taking over PR duties from Cathy McKinley who remains in marketing. Dr. Herb Snender welcomes Glass to GCCC as she seeks a fresh challenge.

KHMS Students Demonstrate Seat Belt Drill During SAFE Night
Kenneth Henderson Middle School students participated in SAFE Night learning seat belt use and how long it takes to buckle and switch seats. In groups of four they timed unbuckling and rebuckling to prove the excuse that buckling takes too long is false while a KHMS student also learned to use a fire extinguisher.

SAFE Night teaches youth dangers of drugs and drunk driving
At Kenneth Henderson Middle School, KHMS hosted Community SAFE Night guiding students through drug risks and seat belt use. Officers say SAFE means Seatbelts Are For Everyone, with lessons expanding to other destructive choices. Junior Leadership Core members presented drug research and stories on impacts, including ecstasy and inhalants, shared by 12 year old Vincy Rivera.
