City votes down zoning change for Project Fitness site
Garden City zoning panel denied a April zoning amendment for Project Fitness at 901 W Mary St after a long committee hearing. Opponents argued safety and property rights while supporters urged flexible permitting to allow a CrossFit affiliate in an industrial block. The city cited a recently flawed compliance check that failed to flag the business when utilities were connected in January.
