Officials abandon FSA closure plan in Kansas
The USDA said FSA offices in Kansas will not consolidate or close as part of the FSA Tomorrow program. Agriculture Committee members and Sen Saxby Chambliss criticized the plan, which aimed to close 713 of 2351 offices, citing poor service and outdated technology. The Senate blocked closures weeks ago, and a Thursday hearing was canceled. The department planned to monitor agencies to improve proficiency and customer base.
