Pink Pumpkin Patch fuels breast cancer awareness drive
In Holcomb Kansas 16 year old Maggie Roth harvests pink pumpkins with about 50 Holcomb High football players to raise funds for breast cancer awareness. The Pink Pumpkin Patch Foundation founded by Carol and David Froese supports research as Maggie expands an SAE project through FFA. Maggie promotes 51 additional student patches nationwide while her father Dwane aids in planting pink pumpkins on a 3 acre plot. The effort aligns with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and involves community, school and 196 commercial growers.
