Civilians among victims of airstrike near Ramadi
US warplanes and helicopters attacked two western villages killing about 70 militants near Ramadi where five American soldiers died in a weekend roadside blast. Residents said at least 39 of the dead were civilians. The violence followed Iraq's vote on a landmark constitution amid a stormy counting process and international observers noted a likely passage. The airstrike drew disputed claims over civilian casualties amid ongoing security concerns.
