Jury to hear resentence in De Anda murder case
Joaquin De Anda, 22, who is already serving life with 50 years before parole for the 2008 murder of 16 year old Julia Quintana, will face a jury in Finney County starting Oct. 21 to determine whether to keep the Hard 50 sentence or replace it with 25 years to life. The case stems from a Kansas Supreme Court ruling that the sentence was unconstitutional because a judge imposed it rather than a jury.
