Frost Delays Expected as Kansas Lands Await Freeze
Western Kansas remains frost free with 33 degree readings in Ulysses and nearby towns. Met meteorologist John Finch notes frost forms from humidity, not ground temps, and predicts hard killing frosts arriving mid to late October, while mild days continue into the weekend. Farmers in Tribune and Syracuse anticipate a freeze to jump start harvest and wheat development.
