Legislator opposes voter purge criticism in Kansas
Kansas State Senator Steve Fitzgerald denounced national criticism as Secretary of State Kris Kobach proceeds with purging suspended voters who lack proof of citizenship. The rule allows incomplete registrations to be canceled 90 days after filing, with officials contacting affected individuals and noting options to reregister. A federal suit led by ex Governor candidate Paul Davis challenges the policy, while Kansas GOP calls for Davis to recuse himself.
