Leave a Legacy run draws record turnout in seven year history
The Leave a Legacy walk and run Friday in Garden City attracted more than 400 registered participants, the largest turnout in seven years. The event started and ended at the Lee Richardson Zoo, with signs along the course and 65 new I Run For breast cancer signs highlighting women aided by the Breast Center in Garden City. Frederick R. Deal, 68, who fought cancer, died Saturday at St. Catherine Hospital, casting a somber note over the fundraiser.
