Holcomb High School evening events start with spirit week themes led by cheerleaders. A community pep assembly is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the stadium, followed by a powder puff game. The homecoming parade is 1 p.m. Friday, with queen and king chosen at 7 p.m. before the football game versus Syracuse.

Police arrest man wanted for pulling gun in Garden City
Abdi Hassan Yussuf, 28, of 1806 W Kansas Ave Apt H, arrested about 10 am in the 100 block of East Finnup Drive after officers stopped a silver Honda with California plates and a broken taillight. He faced charges including possession of drug paraphernalia aggravated assault disorderly conduct and nuisance deposits. He was held in Finney County Jail. A separate incident left Abel Cano, 40, with minor injuries after a bike collision at Fourth and Fulton streets. Cano, from 301 Hillside St, rode through a red light into a pickup driven by Lawrence Davis 73 of 603 N 12th St. Cano refused a preliminary breath test and faces citations for intoxicated pedestrian failure to yield and related offences.
