Officer-involved shooting in Hays ruled justified
Ellis County Attorney Thomas Drees found the August shooting of 36-year-old Joey Weber by Hays Police Sgt. Brandon Hauptman justified, as Weber allegedly tried to grab the officer’s gun. Weber’s family may pursue Joey’s Law to alert officers to mental or health issues.
