Downtown Garden City shoppers embrace Friday pace on Black Friday
Garden City residents and visitors flocked downtown for a calmer Black Friday experience. Ellie Damm of Great Bend led a family group touring Laurel Street antique shops Stage Department Store and Porter's Flowers and Gifts while others from Sublette and Lake Providence joined for a relaxed shopping day. Shoppers praised the down town atmosphere over crowded big stores, noting friendly service and fewer crowds as ideal for gifts. Temperature was cool and sunny as families split between big retailers like Target JC Penney Sears and local stores along Main Street.
