Senior Center hiring raises questions about director selection
A scoring matrix guided the senior center director search led by Jensen. Board chair Trosper says finalist Hilary Whiteley is the top candidate, with two others needing training for QuickBooks. Beltran faces scrutiny over potential conflicts as transit center chair, while several commissioners urge stepping back from leadership roles or recusal, citing public perception and family ties. Whiteley, noting her spouse is Beltran’s son, says family will not affect her duties or hiring, and Beltran says he recused himself.
