Ulysses approves 10.3 million school bond for additions
Voters in Ulysses approved a 10.3 million bond to expand Hickok and Sullivan Elementary Schools and add a 4,960 square foot vocational addition to Ulysses High School plus a 2,000 seat gym. The measure passed 1,653 to 1,025. Superintendent Bill Hall cited community support for education and noted enrollment has plateaued after peaking in 1997-98. Construction will unfold in phases over about 2.5 years with ground breaking planned for late spring or summer.
