Kansas groups flood spending before Kansas Legislature vote
Seven political groups and PACs spent about 167000 in the final week of the Kansas campaign season to boost Democratic and conservative Republican candidates. The Kansas Chamber PAC led spending with over 96000 in three days, while Democrats cited a state brochure mailing by the Department of Revenue to 146000 business owners as an unfair edge. Democratic and labor-aligned groups mounted counter effort with 72000 on mailings and GOTV, and education groups joined to back several Senate and House hopefuls.
