Netanyahu Rejects 1967 Borders in Talks With Obama
In the Oval Office meeting, Benjamin Netanyahu rebuffed using the 1967 line as the basis for a Palestinian state while Obama pressed for a scenario with land swaps. Netanyahu argued the 1967 lines are indefensible, insisting Israel cannot return to them even as Obama seeks progress on borders and security amid stalled peace talks. Palestinian negotiator Erekat called Netanyahu’s stance a rejection of the Obama vision, saying he is not a partner without two states on 1967 lines and swaps.
