Garden City cuts men's soccer after 14 3 2 season
Garden City Community College will discontinue the men's soccer program after a 14 3 2 season aided by a 9 2 Jayhawk Conference mark and a Region 6 final loss to Barton County. Officials cited $60 000 annual cost and limited local interest as decisive factors. Athletic director Bob Larson noted recruiting challenges amid NJCAA’s rule limiting international students and a shrinking pool of Kansas players.
