Record Everest summit day with 54 climbers including Tenzing’s grandson
In rare clear weather 54 climbers reached Everest's summit including Tashi Wangchuk Tenzing, grandson of Tenzing Norgay. Peter Hillary followed a slower route. Nepal’s Tourism Ministry noted multiple records as the 29,035 foot peak saw a large summit crowd and fresh milestones.
