Baumann leaves Garden City for Trinity Valley basketball post
Kris Baumann resigned from Garden City Community College to take the men's basketball coach and administrator role at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens Texas. The move follows Trinity Valley president Glendon Forgey and former coach Pat Smith departing to other jobs, and Baumann cites the unique opportunity and respect for Forgey as key factors in his decision. He led Garden City to a school record 25 wins in a season and to the NJCAA national tournament for the first time in 53 years, coaching players such as Julian Allen Thomas Manzano Roy Bright and earning Region VI coach of the year in 2009. He noted plans to meet staff and players at Trinity Valley and expects an official hire soon.
