Brownback cash claim mixes numbers and dates
A fundraising letter from Gov. Sam Brownback’s re election campaign misstates the state’s cash on hand. The missive contrasts a $876.05 balance when sworn in with a claim of $764 million on hand as of January 1, 2011, mixing wrong dates and figures in a bid to defend policy and solicit donations.
