Lope z Walk-off Highlights WAC Title Bid for Garden City
Garden City High School senior catcher Monique Lopez hit a three run walk off homer in the bottom of the eighth to beat Hays 4 1 and pressure the Western Athletic Conference title race. The Buffs swept the Indians 10 5 in game two to clinch the WAC crown outright as Leslie Ford pitched eight strong innings and Kim Bogner and Lyndi Hernandez contributed early. Lopez notched her second walk off homer of the season and coach John Ford praised her clutch hit as the team capped a rallying doubleheader for the title.
