Kansas doctors' trial pings jurors on clinic liability
In Kansas, Dr Stephen Schneider and wife Linda face trial linked to 68 alleged overdose deaths from their Haysville clinic. Prosecutors seek juror instructions on criminal liability for employees actions, arguing the clinic functioned as a conspiratorial enterprise under both defendants. The defense argues doctors should not be liable for unscribed drugs. Meanwhile, Kansas lawmakers approved a nursing home bed tax to boost federal funds, levying up to 1950 dollars per bed annually, likely raising about 30 million dollars.
