Declarer Profiles a Heart Finesse in a Bridge Play
In Becker's Bridge Spectacular, South reaches four hearts after a sequence and West leads a diamond. Declarer wins ace of diamonds, plays king of hearts, and East wins with ace. A cross to dummy, heart lead, and a nine finesse yields success if hearts split 4-1, with the 3-2 trump split considered less likely. West’s earlier double and East’s heart ace suggest a single or void in hearts, making the trump finesse favorable. Tomorrow: It's all in the spots.
