Wind derails freight train near Galva in McPherson County
High winds across McPherson County toppled several freight cars near Galva and downed power lines. The dispatcher reported extensive storm damage with no injuries by Wednesday evening. Meteorologists attributed 65 to 80 mph winds and possible hail and rain as the cause of the damage across the region. Emergency crews and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers aided response.
