Gas prices curb Memorial Day travel plans in Garden City area
Garden City residents report Memorial Day plans shrinking due to fuel costs ranging from 3.48 to 3.69 dollars per gallon. Motorists like Brett Harman and Connie Rodriguez say high prices hinder travel, though some would spend savings on bills or groceries if a federal fuel tax holiday were enacted. Farmers such as Kenny Merg note fuel costs crimping farming operations, with many planning to stay closer to home or postpone trips.
