Wilks family to skip Trump bids after Cruz withdrawal
The Wilks fracking family of Texas plans to sit out the presidential race after Ted Cruz dropped out. They have funded a Cruz-aligned super PAC but may focus on Texas state races and other contests. The family’s PAC had 8.3 million cash on hand by March 31, with 2.2 million raised in addition to 15 million from the family. Other Cruz donors include Robert Mercer, while Paul Singer and Charles Koch criticize Trump’s positions and rhetoric.

Trial testimony details Meyers abuse case defense seeks all or nothing verdict
In a trial Meyers proclaims innocence while prosecutors presented witness testimony from his 11 year old son a nurse and a biological mother. The boy testified he visited Meyers residence during the alleged crimes and did not see any improper acts. The nurse testified three of four children described sexual abuse though a 5 year old girl denied it at first but later said she was raped and assaulted. Video interviews with detective Brock showed the older children alleging Meyers raped and sodomized the younger girl. The defense questioned the credibility of witnesses and Meyers urged a direct acquittal as closing arguments approached. Meyers remains jailed on 700000 bond facing possible life imprisonment if convicted.
