Smoking in Kansas bars bill revived in Legislature
The House State and Federal Affairs Committee advanced a bill to allow smoking in private businesses that admit only patrons and employees aged 21 and older. Supporters cite private property rights and consistency with state casino smoking, while critics from the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association caution against public health risks. The measure heads to the House floor, but likely faces a tough path this year due to late-session timing and the need for Senate approval.
