Sports editor Brad Hallier questions a North Platte R-1 Kansas City proposal to multiply private school enrollment by 1.35 for classification decisions. He notes potential shifts for many schools, argues against the move, and cites current private school success in football and basketball while stressing cycles in athletic strength across all schools.

Briggs gamble paying off for Garden City Broacbusters
Todd Briggs reshuffles pitching roles boosting Garden City to 10 2 since a rough start. Jared Knaub moved to rotation and Craig Ayres became closer, not always preferred but effective with three saves and a key 2 2/3 inning relief. Lytle leads offense with high batting pace while the team benefits from versatile pitching. See GCCC, Page B4.
