Prairie National Park could move to Oklahoma

Interior Secretary Udall warned that continued Kansas opposition to the Prairie National Park near Westmoreland might force shifting the site to Oklahoma. Mississippi Flood Breaks Levee North of Hannibal

Mississippi River floodwater breached a levee north of Hannibal and Quincy Illinois, flooding about 7,700 acres of farmland. Young Great Bend Woman Dies in Mishap

Mary F. Hergenreder, 21, of Great Bend was thrown from a car and killed in a one car accident on a county road six miles northwest of Great Bend. Janes Flury, 27, of Hoisington and Kevin W. Cullen, 25, of Albuquerque, N M, were in the car. the men were treated and released after the vehicle rolled over twice following a curve failure.
