Kansas House stalls bid for Sunflower plants amid bargaining
House leaders postponed indefinitely a debate on a Sunflower Electric two plant bill after grumbling among members. Supporters pitched CO2 limits and wind provisions, critics called it a fishing expedition. Democrats floated trading a workers compensation measure for votes, but no traction. The $3.6 billion project has bipartisan backing despite a prior veto and Bremby’s CO2 concerns.
