City OKs eminent domain in Garden City project
Garden City commissioners 3-2 voted to pursue eminent domain against Ce cil O Brate over a 3.44 acre parcel near the K 156 Jen nie Barker Road Mary Street intersection tied to the highway reconfiguration. City attorney Randall Grisell said no agreement had been approved and a petition will determine Eminent domain rights and public purpose.

Police: Fatal fire started by child in house
Police say 3 year old Derik Johnson started the February blaze at 506 N Ninth St by playing with a lighter. The child died Feb 8 after being airlifted to Via Christi.
