Garden City weather storm hits with wind and rain
The region endured a Thursday night storm with winds near 70 mph. A trampoline launched by the wind reportedly started a power outage affecting about 200 residents in East Garden Village. Power was mostly restored by 11 p.m. with repairs continuing into Friday morning. Fire and public works crews addressed wind damage, including a large tree on Main Street. Rainfall varied across counties, aiding drought relief though more storms are needed. Authorities foresee additional storms with limited expected rainfall.
