Inmates to microfilm old Kansas court records pilot
Kansas lawmakers consider a pilot at Kansas State Prison Lansing where 15 inmates will microfilm Brown County court records. If successful, 45 to 60 inmates could work on additional counties. The plan costs about 100000 dollars for the pilot with 17000 more requested for equipment. Security concerns persist among district clerks and rival firms, but officials say inmates provide control and cheap storage.
