Signs of the Times exhibit brings Finney County nostalgia home
The Finney County Historical Museum opens Signs of the Times at the Front Door Gallery with nearly two dozen historic advertising signs from local businesses. The small exhibit, not preplanned, features metal nameplates and hand painted signs from Wiley’s Funeral Home to Ted’s Market, plus a 5-foot metal chicken above the Elite Café and a Garden City Band bass drum. The display runs for a couple of months with free admission 1 to 5 p.m. daily. Easter closure this Sunday. Contact the museum at (620) 272-3664.

Holcomb city officials seek price quotes for replacing Taylor Jones Road and adding a walk or bike path from the high school to the Love's development on Big Love and Jones Roads. Earles Engineering estimates $208,000 to replace poor pavement and $50,000 for chip and seal work on several streets.
