San Francisco artist Joshua Short, in residence at Salina Art Center, builds installations that fuse light sound and vibration. His piece Thunder Night uses a cone shaped frame a dark canvas and wires to evoke thunder as visitors feel through vibrations. Short aims to blur spectator and participant in a political and social statement reflecting his punk and underground influences. He plans open studio hours Thursdays 6 to 8 pm through April 24 and will participate in the Smoky Hill River Festival June 12 to 15 at Oakdale Park.
